I grew up in the 1970’s in a small socialist suburb outside Copenhagen, Denmark. I spent my childhood surrounded by intellectual academics of anti- capitalist ideologies; an atmosphere that immersed me in dealing with taboos and social status. Issues that helped create my social awareness and outspoken nature at an early age.
I use those early insights every day, examining dysfunctional human emotion and the power struggle within relationships, to fabricate sculptural installations.
My art often deals with taboos and functions as a tool to transform narratives into visual memories.
My work process consists of obsessive repetitions, a necessary time for me to connect the past of my chosen material to a narrative content.
I work conceptually and let my creative ideas guide my choice of media. I mainly work in reclaimed materials, recognizing that found objects already contain unknown stories for me to unearth.
